Optimize your production, improve the quality of your potato flakes, and increase efficiency with our advanced additiveline
Looking for a more efficient and accurate way to add additives to your potato flakes production? Our innovative additiveline offers the perfect solution for mixing and dosing emulsifiers, SAPP, dextrose, phosphates, colorants, and more. Thanks to advanced technologies and a flexible setup, both product quality and production efficiency are significantly improved.
Innovative mixing and dosing system for potato flakes
The additiveline is specifically developed for the potato industry and ensures that the correct amount of additives is added during the production process of potato flakes.
Potatoes are cooked and mashed. The desired additives are then added to the mashed potatoes. The mash is pressed through large rollers into a thin layer, also known as a film. This layer undergoes a rapid drying process until the desired moisture level is reached, after which the dried sheet is scraped off the drum. The sheet is then broken down into flakes of the desired size using a milling system, and subsequently packaged.
To give these potato flakes their desired flavor, color, and other properties, additives are introduced. These may influence product characteristics such as taste, a crispy bite, or extended shelf life.
Efficient production
Optimized and streamlined production. This results in less waste, higher yield, and reliable, consistent end products.
Suitable for different additives
The system is designed to dose both liquid and dry additives with utmost precision. This allows different types of additives to be added accurately, contributing to a stable and reproducible production process.
Flexible configuration
The installation can be tailored to your needs, with the option of a single-tank system or a multi-tank configuration. This provides maximum flexibility and scalability, depending on your production requirements.
Fully automated
Thanks to an advanced automation system, consistent product quality is ensured with minimal manual intervention. This reduces the risk of human error and increases the overall efficiency of the production process.

System configuration of an Additiveline
Powder handling
Powder handling is the first stage of the additiveline. The dry additives are fed into the process line using Big Bags or smaller sacks via a Big Bag unloading station or a powder dosing system. Naturally, a combination of both options is also possible.
The additives are then transported to the mixing tanks either by vacuum or screw conveyor. Using a vacuum system allows for separate handling of dry and wet additives within the production line, increasing efficiency and preventing cross-contamination.
Mixing
In the second stage of the additiveline, the additives are mixed with water. A volumetric feeder doses the correct amount of additives into the water.
The required type of agitator depends on the solids content and properties of the additives. This may range from a simple propeller agitator to a disperser, a turbo mixer, or even an inline mixer.
Various configurations are possible. A single-tank setup, where all additives are dosed into the same tank, or a multi-tank configuration, where specific additives have their own dedicated mixing tank. In a multi-tank system, additives can be added separately, which increases flexibility and promotes product quality.
Dosing
Once the additives are mixed with water, they can be dosed into a ricer or a cooking vessel.
A ricer can only receive liquid additives, while a cooker also allows for the addition of dry additives.
Throughout the year, the quality and characteristics of the potatoes used to produce potato flakes may vary. By adjusting the dosing percentages of the additives, it is possible to maintain consistent, high-quality potato flakes all year round.
